Relationship building in nursing

In the nursing program so far, I have learnt many qualities about myself and what I am able to offer to others. The most important concept that has stood out in my mind so far is the process of building proper relationships with patients and other health care workers in the hospital environment. I have learnt that the concept of caring is only accomplished through the way the nurse interacts with others. Some skills that have been introduced to me in this process include critical thinking, reflection, and proper communication skills. I have learnt that these are significant aspects that must be considered when developing the components of a therapeutic relationship. By utilizing these techniques, I believe that I will gain increased personal attributes to benefit the individuals I encounter in the hospital.

This is very true! I agree that relationship buliding is very important, not only with the patient, but your co-workers. Having good communication skills, and developing trust is very important within the therapeutic relationship : )
